Subject: RE: [arip] Switch to Observer status
Hi Scott, Glad that you will continue as a Member. Hope that you will be able to participate more frequently as your time frees up. Hi David, Thanks for chiming in and providing information on different member status. Best Regards, Farhad H. Patel FUTUREWEI TECHNOLOGIES

On Behalf Of Scott Hudson Ah, good points. Thanks, David. I rescind my request to move to Observer. I will continue as a Member (as I’m certain I have lost my Voting Member status already due to attendance). Thanks and best regards, --Scott From: David Filip [mailto:david.filip@adaptcentre.ie]
Scott, I am not an officer of this ARIP TC but I have experience with roster management in other OASIS TCs, so I hope that the ARIP officers don't mind if I take this ;-) By not attending meetings (two in a row) you will automatically switch from a Voting Member to Member. And when you start attending again, you will get your voting rights back by attending two times in a row. Another thing that you can do is to ask for a Leave of Absence which is being automatically granted once in any rolling 12 months. The roster manager will need to mark you as on Leave of Absence. The leave of absence lasts until you have
taken part in a meeting or taken part in a vote. The advantage of LOA is that your Voting status is not affected during your LOA and you are automatically back with your voting rights when you decide that your LOA is over. I would advise against switching to Observer. The only way how to do it is to leave the TC as a (Voting) Member and enter again as an Observer. As Observer you are in "read only" mode, you are not allowed to make any contributions, because your organization is not bound with the TC IPR mode while you are an Observer. When you decide to join again as a Member, you'd need to leave again as Observer and join again as Member, this new joining would again require approval of your Primary Representative. Again you'd need to attend two meetings in a row to
become a Voting Member again. I hope this helps dF
