Subject: Notes from conference call
- From: Keith Swenson <KSwenson@us.fujitsu.com>
- To: "ASAP (E-mail)" <asap@lists.oasis-open.org>, "WFMC Workgroup4 (E-mail)" <workgroup4@listserv.aiim.org>

- Interop Demo Business - a summary document has been prepared and
distributed to the demo participants for review. Goal is to send this document
out tomorrow to all the demo observers.
- Action Item 0006 - HTTP Authentication Issue, WS-Security, - Rob Cain and
Justin Brunt both volunteered to write up a small 'position statement' on what
the recommended solution for authentication will be. This statement should say
whether WS-Security is compatible with ASAP or not.
- Action Item 007 - Representation of State in Schema Issue - state is now
represented as a string in the latest XSD files (from 2 months ago) and the
conclusion is that this is the right way to represent schema. Will close this
action item.
- Action Item 0008 - Standard WSDL file should be made available - Keith
with check with Krishnan and verify that the WSDL file available is fully
consistent with the spec.
- Action Item 0009 - SenderKey should be required for Notification and
Completed operations, agree that this makes sense. Keith will ask Marylraj to
propose a change to the spec to cover this.
- WS-Addressing - Keith will write a position document on whether
ws-addressing is compatible with ASAP.
- ReliableMessaging - Need another position document about this. Keith will
make action item, leaving it open for a
volunteer.
- other issues needed to be addressed before making a final committee draft.
- Filters in the list instances are not specific enough. Make action item
for this.
- Also state model no clear enough with regard to when history events are
to be sent. Another action item.
- BPMI, BPEL - (Layna) face to face meeting was all about hotly contest
issues. On the side, got a lot of interest into the demo. John Evdemon asked
why Microsoft was not involved. Answer: because they resigned from WfMC. We
should keep the BPEL group up to date. Should talk to Jon E about an
implementation from Microsoft.
- We have the long "results" document, but we also need a short document for
analysts and press summarizing. Layna and Danielle will extract this from the
longer document.
- If people have problems with the demo, they should ask questions and look
for solutions on the workflow discussion forum.
- comment: BPMI & OMG conversations. OMG recommends metamode for
BPDM.... Business Enterprise, business rules, business process metamodel. BPMI
rejected a proposal of complete merger with OMG because they did not want to
be just another brand of OMG. Was a proposal for a joint OMG/BPMI/WfMC in
early november timeframe.

- Mayilraj Krishnan sent regrets
- John Fuller did not get the email in time
to make the call
Call in information for this meeting was mixed up. The
conference call service has changed its dail in numbers, and the conference ID
has changed. An email message with the corrected information was emailed out 30
minutes prior to the meeting, but for some unexpected reason, the mailing list
did not forward that message. A flurry of email right at the call time let some
people know the right numbers, but I imagine that many people did not get the
message in time to attend. We did not have a quorum for this meeting.
