Hi Abbie,
few comments on
the last charter update:
1) bullet 10 in
1a of "scope of the work": what does "investigate the need to extend
handling" mean ?
2) some
activities in the
management area seem covered
already by TMF (e.g. 8 and 9 (and 2 ?) in 1a of "scope of the work"), so, at a
minimim, some precisions (or
amendments) are
required.
3) the reference to IEEE NGSON in (1) (b) is unclear
with respect to its current position in the text. I am not sure that
reference is critical there.
4) it should be
considered the removal of "ETSI/TISPAN" from the list of SDOs in bullet 2 of "scope of the
work" because it is - without a clear
rationale - the unique regional organisation mentioned in the text. Unless other regional organisations are
considered (e.g. ATIS).
5) the described process concerning the requirements oriented activity is not very clear to me: bullet 3 of "scope of the work" says "... for specifying these
requirements" but bullet 2 already covers the
development of a requirement
document. Clarification is required if these are distinct requirements oriented activity
phases.
6) there is no
projected completion date for the "Requirements document" (bullet 3 of (1) (d) list of
deliverables).
7) editorial:
the first sentence in bullet 2
of "scope of the work" is duplicated.
8)
editorial: "SOALT" should be changed
into "GETI" in (2) (a) within "non-normative information regarding
the startup of the TC".
Thanks for your
consideration. Regards, Marco
Dee,
Mary
If we submit this
charter by end of next week, can we still have our first F2F during the OASIS
Forum in October???
All,
I have incorporated
all the feed back that I have got so far in a clean version of the charter
(Attached).
I have basically
refocused the charter to reflect the comments that were received so
far.
One consequence of
this is that now we have a new suggested name for the TC
(GETI).
I have also updated
the IPR section to reflect the feedback that I have got from many possible
co-proposes of the TC. The choice of RAND makes the TC capable of interacting
with other SDO where Telecom Operators are active without worrying about the
consequences of different IPR modes of operation that may prevent them from
working with us. Simply said, RAND IPR mode makes our life easier when we deal
with ITU-T, OMA, OMG and TM Forum.
The out of scope
section, states that specific solutions are out of scope. The idea here is
solutions will be investigated in appropriate TCs that can be created later in
the Telecom MS, in OASIS or in the form of collaboration with other SDOs or
other TCs in OASIS.
All, please provide
feedback on this modified/updated charter ASAP so we can get the ball rolling in
the right direction.
Regards
Abbie
