MEETING MINUTES OF BDXR TC MEETING 16 MAY 2012

ATTENDANCE

Jens Aabol
Roger Bass
Kenneth Bengtsson
Andrea Caccia
Pim van der Eijk
Sander Fieten
Dale Moberg
Sven Rasmussen
Susanne Wigard

DISCUSSION OF E-CODEX E-DELIVERY REQUIREMENTS

Susanne gave a presentation of e-CODEX’s requirements. The requirements share many similarities with PEPPOL requirements and it was noted that especially the use of gateways is a common denominator between European LSPs. There may be some differences in how PEPPOL and e-CODEX understands “support for SME’s”. Kenneth will write his thoughts and comments to the mailing list.

It was agreed to follow up with questions and comments via the TC mailing list.

The document used for the presentation is available here:

GENERALIZING METADATA SERVICE DISCOVERY MECHANISM USING DNS CAPABILITIES

Dale gave a presentation of how Name Authority Pointers (NAPTR) in DNS records can be used to create a flexible system for service metadata discovery, which can be used and adapted to support use cases for both 3-corner and 4-corner infrastructures. NAPTR is already used in different systems including IP telephony based on the SIP standard, which is a 4-corner model.

It was agreed to follow up with questions and comments via the TC mailing list.

The document used for the presentation is available here:

USE CASES FROM ID-CLOUD TC

It was agreed to defer Roger’s presentation to the next TC conference call May 30. Roger has shared the current version of the document that will be used for the presentation here:

APPOINTMENT OF LIAISONS

It was agreed to appoint Pim van der Eijk liaison to the OASIS ebXML Messaging Services TC.

It was agreed to appoint Roger Bass liaison to the OASIS Identity in the Cloud TC.

It was agreed that Andrea Caccia represents BDXR at the upcoming ETSI ESI plenary meeting in June, and at ETSI ESI in general, in order to initiate a formal process to establish liaisons between ETSI ESI and OASIS BDXR TC. Nomination(s) for position as liaison will be decided in this process.

It was noted that OASIS already has a formal liaison with ETSI established and the question arose if there are any constraints with bilaterally setting up technical liaisons between ETSI ESI and the BDXR TC. Pim and Kenneth to follow up on this.

It was noted that there are other organizations and initiatives with overlapping requirements that we may want to formally collaborate and/or liaise with. Specifically were mentioned IFX Forum, EESPA, and a new UN/CEFACT project regarding "business document exchange across borders" which is underway.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS

There was no other business for this meeting.
