MEETING MINUTES OF BDXR TC MEETING 7 JANUARY 2015

ATTENDANCE

Jens Aabol
Kenneth Bengtsson (chair)
Sander Fieten
Sven Rasmussen

INITIAL WORK AND ACTION PLAN TO SUBMIT SERVICE METADATA PUBLISHING AND BUSINESS DOCUMENT METADATA SERVICE LOCATION SPECIFICATIONS AS CANDIDATE OASIS STANDARDS

The TC is ready to progress with promoting BDXL and SMP as Candidate OASIS Standards. Both committee specifications already have good traction through PEPPOL and other uses.

Sven reported that an evaluation group is about to finalize a report for the European multi-stakeholder platform (MSP), which will recommend the approval of the adoption of BDXL. SMP will as well be submitted to the MSP once the official OASIS link to the committee specification document is available. Kenneth reported that SMP is as well being considered for interoperability between electronic invoicing service providers in Latin America, where it already has been implemented in some infrastructures.

Sven has been in contact IBM, DG DIGIT (European Commission) and DIGST about getting statements of use for SMP and BDXL, and Kenneth with Alfa1lab and Efact (Latin America). All have been positive about submitting statements of use and endorsement, however we need the official link to the SMP committee specification before statements can be submitted to the TC.

PROPOSAL TO WORK ON THE BUSINESS DOCUMENT HEADER AND ENVELOPE (BDH) AS A BDXR SPECIFICATION

Some discussions have taken place in UBL with a proposal that work on the BDH continues within the BDXR TC. At today’s meeting we discussed that BDH solves certain use cases in 4-cornered architectures, such as maintaining confidentiality and preserve meta information over multiple hops. It is design goals of the BDH to be both content and transport protocol agnostic, which fits neatly in to the philosophy and charter of BDXR. Several members of the UBL TC had expressed their intentions to join BDXR to work on the BDH if BDXR were willing to take on this task. Sven strongly supported that BDXR accepted the work of the BDH and all present members consented. See also the minutes of today’s Atlantic UBL call:
