STATUS ON BDE 1.0 COMMITTEE SPECIFICATION

The BDE 1.0 Committee Specification has been published by OASIS: https://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/bdxr/201509/msg00007.html

It was agreed to focus TC resources on finalizing BDE 1.1 why an OASIS standard will not be pursued for BDE 1.0.

BDE 1.1

Ken will commence producing draft schemas for BDE 1.1 after our scheduled TC meeting October 28, why all TC members and interested parties are encouraged to submit their input before that date.

UPDATE ON BDXL AND SMP STATEMENTS OF USE

Sven informed that SMP has been submitted to the European Multi-stakeholder Platform (MSP) with a recommendation for the approval of its adoption.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS

Sven submitted a question regarding the use of extensions in SMP: https://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/bdxr/201509/msg00009.html. It was agreed that the phrasing in question ("SMP publishing services MUST NOT produce metadata that contain extensions necessary for a Client to understand in order to make use of this metadata", in the conformance statement in the specification) is intended for general conformance with the specification and does not prohibit users from agreeing upon extensions bilaterally or in a closed community. It was also agreed it would be useful to issue a Committee Note with this clarification. Kenneth to start a Committee Note document.

Erlend informed that there has been discussions in OpenPEPPOL about caching of SMP records to allow greater scalability. Sven added that BDXL/SML scalability also is an issue that is being discussed. Agreed to put SMP caching and general SMP+BDXL scalability an agenda item for next meeting.
