Subject: RE: Meeting Information for Wednesday, 27 April 3pm Eastern - TODAY

All – 2 more items for today’s meeting:

1)      See agenda additions in red

2)      Input from Robin Cover re: CS process.

Advancing a CSPRD after completion of the public review steps is fairly straight-forward, and it's not a transition that typically trips up a TC procedurally.  That is: so long as you follow the TC Process, for which I provide links below...  If the PR steps are done, then the TC just votes to ask for a Special Majority Ballot, which is prepared by TC Admin; the request is made by a form, cited below.  TC Admin may confer with you about the TC roster with respect voting eligibility for setting up the ballot.

I've provided below refs for four sources that you'd want to review in preparation for the advancement to CS.  Slightly out of order, item "IV" is the set of prerequisites documented for the PR stage itself.

Feel free to communicate with us about any specific issue, or with questions for clarification.

I. TC Process:

http://www.oasis-open.org/policies-guidelines/tc-process-2010-07-28#committeeSpec

II. TC Handbook:

http://docs.oasis-open.org/TChandbook/Reference/CommitteeSpecs.html

III. Committee Specification Ballot Request

http://marypmcrae.com/cs-ballot-request-2

  asks for:

- Committee Specification Public Review Draft ##

- Committee Specification Public Review Draft URI

"Please enter the OASIS Library URI (hosted on docs.oasis-open.org)

for the Committee Specification Public Review Draft (html format)

that is to be balloted (http://docs.oasis-open.org/ ... /*.html)

- Link to Comment Resolution Log (URI reference)

- Approval Link

"Provide the direct link to the meeting minutes or ballot

documenting the TC motion to submit [CSPRD] for CS ballot."

- Designated Cross References (if any)

"Please enter the text of any designated cross reference

motions the TC would like included in the ballot text."

IV. Prerequisite steps from Public Review stage

http://www.oasis-open.org/policies-guidelines/tc-process-2010-07-28#publicReview

a) The TC must acknowledge the receipt of each comment

b) track the comments received

c) post to its primary e-mail list its disposition of each comment

at the end of the review period.

d) [No changes] If any changes are made to the draft after the public review, whether as a result of public review comments or from TC Member input, then the TC must conduct another review cycle. The draft may not be considered for approval by the TC as a Committee Specification or Committee Note until it has undergone a review cycle during which it has received no comments that result in any changes.

Cheers,

CT
