Subject: Minutes of 19 Nov 08 Editors' Call

Special note for Krasimir: please hold off any updates for BP-43 until we finish work on BP-16

Minutes: 19 Nov 08 Editors' Call

In attendance: Dieter, Ivana, Luc, Ralf, Ravi, Vinky

Agenda

·         Review Ivana’s BP-16 (RFC 2119 language) updates to section 6 of WS-HT

Notes

·         Ivana walked us through her updates

·         During the course of the review we identified a number of areas that needed to be changed and had impact on normative text. Given that the work we are doing on BP-16 is part of the formulation of a proposal to the TC, any areas where such changes are required will be noted inline by the editor as follows:

[ISSUE: description of issue and proposed resolution]

·         One such issue we uncovered during the review was whether specifying a WS-HumanTask Client as a conformance target was required or even desirable. It was felt that it wasn’t but given that we were not sure of the impact of this change (and could not make it without TC approval), we decided to make updates to the specs “as if” we were going to define normative behaviour for a client. This will allow us to identify all occurrences where such behaviour is currently implied, and in turn make it easier to remove these occurrences.

·         Where RFC2129 language is not required, the use of “can” rather than “CAN” is to be  used

·         Given that we have embarked on work on BP-16, we will carry out no other editorial work until we complete BP-16. Doing otherwise would make it very difficult for the Editors and the TC to approve the updates to BP-16. There is one exception to this rule: BP-43 assigned to Krasimir

·         By implication, once BP-16 and BP-43 are completed, we will submit CD-02 to the TC

·         We agreed that work on BP-16 would be carried out using SVN

·         Pen Ownership:

o    We will perform BP-16 proposal development in two tracks: the WS-HT track and the B4P track

o    WH-HT Track pen ownership in order:

1.       Ivana: section 6

2.       Ivana: sections 1-3

3.       Dieter: sections 4-5

4.       Vinki: sections 7 to the end & appendices

o    B4P Track pen ownership in order:

1.       Ralf: sections 5-6

2.       Ravi: sections 7 to the end & appendices

3.       Luc: sections 1-4

o    Then: Krasimir can take the pen for BP-43

We will meet next week (26 Nov) to review updates.  I (Luc) will be out that day on vacation so I ask that one of you elect him/herself as Chair and coordinate the review (and write up the minutes)… Dieter would be a good choice J
