Subject: Re: [bpel4people] B4P - Constellation 4 Interoperability slides

Dear Alex,

In your proposal, it is stated that this is to add a capability to deal with addition of new TaskTypes and the TaskProcessor to be able to deal with the new types.

As to the TaskTypes, there seem to be only two types enumerated in WS-HumanTask v 1.1 CD02, Jan 06 2009.

They are HUMANTASK and NOTIFICATION.

These are very broad and ay cover most of the things we normally can think of using in this environment.

I can't see the benefit of having a capability for Task generating system(s) (Task Parent) and the TaskProcessor system(s) to be able to define other types freely. Even if the Task Parent can define new Type, unless the TaskProcessor is capable of, there is nothing to do.

Can you explain what other TaskTypes that may be useful?

To me, what may be needed is a hand-shake between the two to exchange the information whether they both can do the new Type or not.

Thanks,
Yoichi
