Subject: RE: [business-transaction] Plan to close this TC

James,

Thank you (and Karl) very much for supporting the BTP TC during its life time. I am glad to see BTP's influence over other transactional xml standards.., and am also proud to have been participated in BTP TC work. Lastly, I want to thank to the BTP editors and specially Peter for his hard work for completing the spec.

Thanks everybody!

,Sazi

Subject: [business-transaction] Plan to close this TC

Business Transaction TC members and observers:

OASIS rules permit and in some cases require OASIS staff to close a
technical committee that falls below certain activity indicators, such as
no meetings or specification ballots for a six month period, or the absence
of progress towards achieving its goals as set forth in its charter. [1]

The BTP v1.0 specification was approved as an OASIS Committee
Specification [2], and an updated v1.1 as a Committee Draft in late 2004
[3]. The work appears to have been implemented and also to have influenced
several other transactional XML projects. However, continuing work on the
specification seems to have been completed. I note no new postings from
members to this list for in excess of six months.

Accordingly, we plan to close this TC in one week (on 7 February),
unless members with an interest, and a plan for its reactivation and
continuation, propose an alternative that satisfies our rules before then.

We appreciate all of the contributions of the past and current members
of the TC, all of which will remain permanently available to implementers
and the public at [3] even in the event of a closure, in accordance with
OASIS policy.

Best regards JBC
