Subject: Updates and Next Steps

CACAO TC,

In the last working call, we discussed the status of the specification and our next steps.

First of all, well done to all of us for having our Committee Specification 01 approved and released.

Moving forward, we go back to our regular schedule, having a working call every other Tuesday (the next one is on Jan 26th). Let me know if you have something that needs to be presented or discussed in one of our calls.

Topics discussed and open actions:
  • Digitally Signing Playbooks
  • Adding a new Playbook type [Notification Playbook]. The description of the new suggested type can be found in the working spec: https://docs.google.com/document/d/144kgoCnZbxc0CXms3EeACf4Sz84lmEt88JoVr4FnmSc
  • Possibly updating the sectors/industry open vocabulary (used as target type) to make it more granular and unambiguous by providing descriptions. We have some work done, and you can take a look at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NHNmnJ_oIhW3LzYo5wIjrnwZPMT6GxDwTtbRJeh4B04/edit?usp=sharing . Please send your feedback. If you desire commenter-access to the doc, let me know.
  • Other requirements/use cases that the specification does not cover currently.
  • For validation purposes, elucidate in CACAO both playbooks intended for human consumption and executable playbooks from (based on) other proprietary technologies (orchestrators). Stephanie Hazlewood suggested creating a small group to work on that. Please let us know if you want to help with that.
  • Start writing code for implementing CACAO. Feedback will allow us to update the spec accordingly.
  • Update the examples that we have, and possibly bring new ones (e.g., notification playbook).

Best,

Vasileios Mavroeidis
CACAO Secretary
