This seems like an ideal event to show the TCs how they can take 
advantage of CAM and nouns
to enhance their deployment of common vocabularies.

I will be submitting a proposal - and if you would like to be involved 
in presenting this and
talking about use cases - please let me know.

A couple of existing use cases - UBL and CIQ are definates, please feel 
free to suggest more.

OASIS Symposium Call for Participation Announced

"The Future of XML Vocabularies" will be the theme of next year's OASIS
Symposium, which will be held on 24-26 Apr in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.
The premise of the symposium is that successful business integration relies
on agreement between parties on the vocabularies that are used in the
messages to be exchanged. Several OASIS committees are working to define the
schema and semantics of vocabularies exchanged in specific industry-vertical
domains. The OASIS Technical Advisory Board invites proposals for
presentations, panel sessions, and tutorials on topics related to the
development or use of business vocabularies. The Call for Participation
deadline is 13 Dec.

UBL and WS-Reliability Ballots Close

OASIS Standards voting for UBL and WS-Reliability closed 31 Oct.  While
there were sufficient affirmative votes to approve both specs, the members
of the TCs are now officially reviewing comments received from the ballots,
and announcements on the outcome will be made soon. Thanks to all OASIS
members who participated in the review and voting process.

TC Submits OASIS UDDI v3.0.2 for Public Review

The OASIS UDDI Specification TC has approved the Universal Description,
Discovery and Integration v3.0.2 specification for public review. This
specification defines a standard method for enterprises to dynamically
discover and invoke Web services. The review will continue until 1 Dec, and
comments are solicited from all interested parties.

OASIS President Addresses Members

In his October announcement to members, Patrick Gannon reviewed program
highlights from the first OASIS Adoption Forum, held in Brussels, 6 Oct, and
encouraged attendance at next spring's OASIS Symposium in New Orleans. In
addition, Mr. Gannon asked that members review the revised Membership
Agreement draft and the Technical Committee Process policy draft. The OASIS
InterOp demonstrations scheduled throughout November are also highlighted in
the address.

OASIS on the Agenda

16-19 Nov -- XML 2004, Washington, DC. OASIS will present six InterOp Demos
and five presentations on the work of various OASIS TCs. OASIS staff will be
at the Expo,
booth 102.  Members are encouraged to stop by and discuss current events and
pick up their new OASIS member pin. OASIS members are eligible for a

17 Nov - The Gartner Application Integration and Web Services Summit, held
in Orlando, Florida will feature the OASIS InterOp Demo, "UDDI -- the Web
Services Registry Standard." Patrick Gannon, OASIS CEO, will participate in
the panel entitled "Standards and Interoperability: Coming Any Day Now?"
OASIS members are eligible for a conference discount.
