Surprisingly close description to the idea of CAM. It
is not only the use of template that is interesting but also the link to
registry?

Has anyone seen this
effort[1] from Arbortext? Recognizing up front that it is not an open standards
initiative, but rather a single vendor's internal initiative, it bears *some*
resemblance to the foundational concepts of CAM. There is even a reference
to templates:
"DCAM allows the creation of content "templates,"
where the actual content varies based on the usage or context of the template,
which DCAM fills with specific content at the time of publishing."
