Subject: [FWD: [cam-comment] Need for two extra functions]

Team,

Martin has posted a comment vis two extra functions - setDefault(value) and setNumberRange() see below.

My sense is these are just minor additions to the existing function set - and can be included via two new lines in the Functions table in the specification.

I propose to add these therefore - unless I hear any dissentors on that - and note that in our formal change tracking PDF too - and re-post that to Kavi.

Having passed the initial ballot of the committee specification - we are now ready to proceed to a formal OASIS ballot next.

I already asked Mary and procedurally I need to change the current v1.1 document to the new OASIS template that includes the new IPR policy statement.  I'm therefore going to combine these two changes with that editing and produce a final document in the format OASIS requires - and upload all that to Kavi.

THEN - I will notify Mary - who will initiate the formal OASIS ballot.

I'm hoping to complete that over the weekend - so look for something on Monday - and then for a ballot notice from Mary after that.

Then - assuming we pass that ballot - we will then be ready to proceed to OASIS member ballot on our specification.

Thanks, DW

In some recent testing there appears to be a need for two extra
functions.

These are 1: setDefault(value) which sets the default value for a node
to the value given.  This will allow defaults to be applied outside of
restrictValues command.  This also means that the lookup extension
command does not have to be extended to three parameters to cope with
defaults.
2: setNumberRange(start, end)  This would allow the
specification of a number being between two values inclusively.  so 0-10
would include 0 and 10.

For future it might be sensible for a CAM version 2.0 to include setDateRange but this is
not currently sensible with the xpath 1.0 functions.
