Subject: Re: [cam] Close CAM TC?

Hi David,

There's a difference between open source development and TC work - anything on sourceforge is not part of the TC. While you may be working on other TCs, there have been no meetings or minutes recorded that I can see. All you need to do is hold a meeting once every other month, take attendance, update the voting roster accordingly, do a status report on liaison work, etc. and continue on.

Thanks!

Mary

Mary,

We are working very hard on next version of CAM.  There is a huge body of work we need to bring back to the TC - but we have been fully stretched building the software and implementing.

We are also working with the SET TC on using CAM toward their goals.  Similarly with OASIS EML TC - new version 6.0 of EML is built in part using CAM.

The intention is to jump start the specification process soon as we have the current development phase done.

Unfortunately we cannot do both at the same time - but we have been posting as much as possible to the TC as progress continues.

Over on Sourceforge we are ranked in the top 1% of active projects with download rates to reflect that.

I anticipate within 3 months we will be able to produce a specification draft for the next phase of the work in OASIS.

Thanks, DW

Section 2.15 of the TC Process:
The TC Administrator may close a TC that fails to conduct at least one
Quorate Meeting or conduct any Specification Ballots during any six
month period; whose membership falls below the Minimum Membership;
which has not completed its deliverables within the schedule listed in
its Charter; or which has failed to show progress towards achieving
its purpose as defined by its Charter.

The most recent meeting minutes seem to be from 2008; there are no
calendar entries for 2009, and the CAM specification was approved in
2007.

Is there further work to be done by the TC on the CAM specification or
additional specifications to be created? Or should we declare victory
and close?

Regards,

Mary
