Subject: RE: [cam] Comment on CAM charter / dictionary work

Thanks Mary for clarifications - that's helpful.

We have a couple of new members and several new observers joined.

I'm in the process of arranging for sponsored bi-weekly teleconference facilities for us to make this easier.  I should have more news on that next week.

Then we'll need to pick a day/time convenient for everyone - if you have specific day/time needs please send those to me off line and we'll figure that out accordingly - and make suggestions back to the group.

Appreciate everyones patience here while we re-charter and get our organizational details back on track.

Thanks, DW

Hi everyone,

I've been communicating with David but apparently the messages haven't made it through to the list. There are several steps required before this TC can continue. The first is to get the roster back up to minimum membership which will require some new members joining and then holding at least  two teleconferences so those new members can establish voting rights. Once that's done the TC Charter will need to be clarified and will need to conform to the current rules as defined in the TC Process. Once those critical steps have been accomplished and the TC is back in good standing, I hope to see participation - in the form of email conversations, meeting minutes, and votes to progress work forward.

If you are on this list as an observer but wish to participate as a member, you must first leave the group and then rejoin, making sure to select 'member' rather than 'observer.' For anyone who works for an OASIS member company, you will need your organization's Primary Representative to approve your participation before you will appear on the roster. If you are on the roster as a member but no longer wish to participate, you can leave the group and then rejoin as observer. No primary rep approval is required and you will still receive all email communications.

Regards,

Mary

Team,

Just an FYI - Ram Kumar - made the following comment to me, and is allowing me to share this back with you all.

Have a great weekend everyone - and I plan to do more facilitation next week - as I'm expecting one or two more people to join us then - and we can start moving all this work ahead here together.

Looking forward to everyones input and ideas and feel free to post of course - as we need to finalize the charter as next step.

For refresh on that see:

Thanks, DW

Thanks David.

I think this is an important piece of work. If we are able to define generic dictionary specification that can take multiple definitions of common terms from the business including owners of the terms, time and date stamp, etc. one can generate data dictionaries for organisations that can be used by both business and IT. Enterprise data models and enterprise data dictionaries are becoming increasingly important for organisations and once an organisation has them, the value that they bring to the organisation is simply outstanding.

Ram
