Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (CAMP-39) Discovery Features

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/CAMP-39?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=32199#action_32199 ]

Alex Heneveld commented on CAMP-39:
-----------------------------------

I would advocate using /apidoc as an entry point for "documenting" these items. "documenting" here means doing so in a way which has both machine-navigable lists of attributes, and human-readable "description" fields. This allows it to be used in a nice GUI as well as machine discovery tools.

(BTW tools like "swagger" does a nice job of generating this automatically.)

+1 to extensions being "discoverable" in this sense

> This issue is intended as a collection of all the different resources that require a discovery feature in CAMP. Individual issues should be opened for each of these. This issue is for the purpose of thinking of them as a group so our solution is consistent among all of them.
> Discoverable Entities:
> - Metadata. Reference: CAMP-1
> - Data Representation Formats (other than JSON). Reference: CAMP-14
> - Extensions. Reference: CAMP-10
