Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] (CAMP-196) should links attribut of colleciton resource be consumer mutable

Tom Rutt commented on CAMP-196:
-------------------------------

The items attribute of collection (from issu3 188 resolution) is a derived attribute, which changes whenever a member resource has an attribute change. How can a consumer update these items since they do not control the linked resource>

the change to resolve 188 makes the simultaneous update to a pair of UPlink collection resources (from component to assembly) and a downLink collection (from asembly to componenent very difficult. Because the attribute data for each linked resource is put into the items of the litems attribute of colection, we have a race condition. I say we make the items attribute consumer not mutable, and add an operation to assembly to add a collection.

> The resolution to issue 192 has the links attribute of the collection resource as Mutable true.
> However it does not make a requirement for it to be consumer mutable true or false.
> In cases of shared components, the administrative user may need to update the collection member links
