OASIS TC chairs,

On behalf of the OASIS TAB (Technical Advisory Board), I am pleased to
announce two new resources meant to assist with adding normative and
non-normative references to your work products: the 'IETF RFC Citation
List for OASIS Editors' and the 'W3C Recommendation Citation List for
OASIS Editors.'

Works from the IETF and the W3C are some of the most frequently cited
resources in OASIS specifications. It can, at times, be difficult for
editors to be certain they have the most current citation for a given
work and to be sure that the citation is in the correct format.

These files collect the most current citations for IETF RFCs and W3C
Recommendations together in individual files and formats them in each
organization's preferred manner. To cite a given work in your
specification, simply search the text of the file and copy and paste the
citation into your document.

The files are available here:

- IETF RFC Citation List for OASIS Editors:
http://docs.oasis-open.org/templates/ietf-rfc-list/ietf-rfc-list.html

- W3C Recommendation Citation List for OASIS Editors:
http://docs.oasis-open.org/templates/w3c-recommendations-list/w3c-recommendations-list.html

You will also find them linked from the TAB's homepage at
https://www.oasis-open.org/committees/tab/ and in the list of TC Tools
on the TC Administration home page at
https://www.oasis-open.org/resources/tcadmin.

We intend to update these files each quarter. Note that the files
contain only current RFCs and Recommendations. Drafts, works in
progress, superseded works and the like are not listed so there may be
times when more research is needed. But for current citations, this file
should make life a little easier for spec editors.

My thanks to the members of the TAB, Jacques Durand, Ashok Malhotra,
Kevin Mangold and especially Patrick Durusau who wrote the script for
extracting and formatting the files, for both the idea and the execution
on making these available.

And don't forget that you can find OASIS Standards listed at
https://www.oasis-open.org/standards. That list is being expanded to
include OASIS Committee Specifications and the OASIS preferred citation
format over the coming weeks.

Please share this with your members, particularly with your editors.
