Subject: FW: TC Process question
Here's the response to the question of a CD ballot. If we have enough paritipants in Munich, we can have a ballot there (or via telecon prior). thx...Dave -----Original Message----- From: Mary McRae [mailto:mary.mcrae@oasis-open.org] Sent: Monday, January 17, 2005 5:09 AM To: Cruikshank, David W Subject: RE: TC Process question Hi Dave, The ballot can be conducted in any of the three ways mentioned; most often a Kavi ballot is used when the committee has difficulty getting 2/3 of the voting membership on any given telecon. Regards, Mary -----Original Message----- From: Cruikshank, David W [mailto:david.w.cruikshank@boeing.com] Sent: Monday, January 17, 2005 5:21 AM To: mary.mcrae@oasis-open.org Subject: TC Process question Mary, A question about the ballot requirement for CD approval. To create an initial CD, the TC process states: Section 3. Standards Approval Process (a). Approval of a Committee Draft Upon completion of a specification the TC may approve the work as a Committee Draft. The approval of a Committee Draft shall require at least 2/3 of the total membership of a TC voting to approve and no more than 1/4 voting to disapprove. OASIS TC Administration must be notified at the completion of any ballot to approve a Committee Draft, regardless of the outcome of the ballot. Does this mean that a "KAVI" ballot have to be done to approve work as a CD? Or can we conduct a ballot during a face-to-face meeting? or a telecon? thx...Dave Cruikshank Chair CGM Open WebCGM TC Technical Fellow - Graphics/Digital Data Interchange Boeing Commercial Airplane 206.544.8876, fax 206.544.9590 david.w.cruikshank@boeing.com
