Have a look at "bindByName" and apstargetname.
That is what you are looking for, I guess.

Hello everyone,

After carefully reading Section 4 of the WebCGM 2.0 draft, I realized there
is no place to put APS 'name' attributes in the XML companion file. Is this
simply an oversight? I would think this would be a requirement for a lot of
users.
