I agree except for a small quibble with the grammar. The phrase "interaction region" has a noun modifying a noun. How about "interactive region" instead? I would prefer "interaction region". "picking region" would also be acceptable but, now in 2.0 and the DOM... we are doing more than picking. I think "interaction region" is a good fit.
