Subject: Dieter's CD2 comments -- Section 3.1 -- first
Ref: http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/cgmo-webcgm/200509/msg00093.html Comments: 16, 17-19, 22, 25, 27, 28 ========== This collection of comments, all within 3.1, are pretty much editorial, although some need explanation. I'll send a few other 3.1-comment messages, that have more substantive implications and may need discussion. Comments #17, 18, 19, 25, 27: just as suggested by Dieter. Comment 16: ----- If you look at these three pieces of text, taken together, I think there is little ambiguity: [[[ 3.1.1.2 fragment grammar: ==>behavior ::= "_blank" | "_self" | "_parent" | "_replace" | "_top" | target 3.1.1.3 Fragment Character Repertoire: ==>"The productions 'picid', 'target', 'objid', and 'objname' in the fragment grammar [above]..." 3.1.1.3, #1, 4th bullet: ==>"target - further restrictions: as objid, plus further restricted per "Frame Target Name" of HTML 4.01 (e.g., must begin with a-zA-Z)" ]]] So IMO 'target' is distinguished from _blank etc, and the HTML reference reinforces that. QUESTION. Would it be helpful to reword, "target - further restrictions: as objid, plus must begin with a-zA-Z, similarly to "Frame Target Name" of HTML 4.01, upon which the set of WebCGM picture behaviors is based." Comment 22: ----- As resolved in an issue this summer, all references to HTML should be to 4.01, so the 4.0 reference is an editorial oversight. Discussion welcome. Regards, -Lofton.
