Rob et al --

It has passed SC24 ballot, and now only awaits the completion of the (corrigendum) publication process in ITTF.

Hi there,

Yes, the SC 24 part of the process has been completed and the action is now for ITTF editors to process the technical corrigendum.

Best regards
José

[...copying only the SC24 folks...]

Hello José,

Thanks for the quick reply.  Just to be sure that I understand the status ... is the SC24 part of this process finished, i.e., the ballot that you mention in your 11/23/2005 message?

Regards,
-Lofton.

Dear Lofton,

I haven t received any further communication from ITTF regarding the production of the technical corrigendum. I am therefore copying ITTF to this mail hoping they will provide us with an update and target dates.

Thanks to all.

Best regards
José

Hi Jose,

My Technical Committee has tasked me to verify the final disposition of the defect, or else find out its status.  Could you please update me about it?

Thanks,
-Lofton.

Dear All,

Finally, I clarified the process with ITTF. It seems that in order to proceed with the Technical Corrigendum we need the approval from SC 24 (and JTC1 in parallel); after that s been granted, I will inform ITTF editors to prepare a technical corrigendum based on the defect report. I m initiating a ballot within SC 24 today (and requesting JTC 1 to do the same) that will close on 31 Jan 2006. At that point, I will instruct ITTF hoping the matter is closed.

I know it will take a little longer to complete that action but I hope it s OK.

Regards
José

Don t think I ve forgotten about this issue. According to the directives, it appears that the defect report has been recorded at ITTF by the editors and they will gather necessary material for a Technical Corrigendum. However, as no further action was taken by ITTF, I need confirmation that the matter is in hand or that they expect SC 24 to submit a corrigendum for publication. Considering the publication date of the standard, we may consider its revision or issuing an amendment to take care of this defect and update its contents. In either case, I ve requested confirmation of procedure from ISO ITTF.

Whatever ISO thinks is the best way.  (An amendment would seem to me like overkill, given the nature of the defect -- as I recall, an index in an equation was off by one.  But I'm unable to assess the relative merits of the different approaches in this case.)

Is there anything to report about the current status of the missing Registry items?  As I recall, we were going to get Japan's okay before fixing the oversight/omission.

Thanks,
-Lofton.
