Subject: Fwd: FW: Proposal (with attachment) for withdrawal of CGM ISPs

Hi WebCGM TC --

It has been proposed in ISO to withdraw the four CGM International Standardized Profiles (ISP) that were approved around 1992-ish.  The attached document fully explains the reasons.

In my opinion, this would be a good piece of house-keeping, and should be supported.  Although some people have claimed implementation, on the other hand, to my knowledge these ISPs have never been used by anyone (or at least any significant user community / technical program).

Thoughts?  Does anyone see any reason to object?

Regards,
-Lofton.

Hi, Lofton --

Can you please advise Jack and myself about the attached? It has been awhile since I have thought about ISPs. Is the CGM ISP being used? Should it be withdrawn?

Dick,

This relates to the CGM, about which I know nothing. Could you please brief me on your view of this proposal, so that I may report it at the meeting of ICT/-/1, which I shall be attending.

Thanks,

Jack

Dear Member

Please find attached a paper from IST/6 regarding
the withdrawal of a number of International

of SC 24 which relate to CGM.

This matter will be discussed at the forthcoming
meeting of ICT/-/1 and would appreciate your
thoughts on this matter in advance of the meeting.

Best Wishes
Jean
