Subject: RE: [cgmo-webcgm] Style property question
I agree. And the wording describing each keyword should be specific on which CGM elements they affect. That's why we generalized the style props so far into simple forms like "fill-color" or "stroke-color". In a similar fashion we should simplify and combine the new style props. An index is completely unknown to the outside world, and it is not under control of an author in most cases. So I suggest to use explicit values and/or keywords like "solid". I am proposing 9 new style types based on previous discussions. Unfortunately the table is expressed in terms of CGM elements and the style properties in 5.75 are more generic. Should line types defined as an index 1,2,3, etc or should it be at a higher level "solid", "dash", etc... line-type yes yes line index value 1 "1" or "-3" line-initial-offset yes yes relative distance (0..100%) 0% "25%" interior-style yes yes index value (0..6) 0 "4" hatch-index yes yes index value 1 "1" or "-2" pattern-index yes yes index value (>0) 1 "2" edge-type yes yes index value 1 "2" or "-2" edge-visibility yes yes index value (0..3) 0 "2" edge-initial-offset yes yes relative distance (0..100%) 0% "25%" fill-reference-point yes yes NVDC point 0 "0.2 0.5" Did I miss any? and do we need to make these more generic or combine them? -- Stuart Galt SGML Resource Group stuart.a.galt@boeing.com (206) 544-3656 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from this mail list, you must leave the OASIS TC that generates this mail.
