Subject: Review - Transparent Cell Color test

All,

I apologize for the tardiness of this review. Better late than never I
suppose.

First, the CGM is invalid. The VDC Extent is set to (1334.0, 4201.4)
(6851.2, 7019.0), but there is no Maximum VDC Extent element. The default
value for Maximum VDC Extent (when VDC Type is real) is (0.0, 0.0) (1.0,
1.0), so the Maximum VDC Extent is exceeded in this CGM. MetaCheck will flag
this as an error. I've attached the summary file from MetaCheck to this
message.

Second, this is an ATA GREXCHANGE CGM. Is that OK? If the Metafile
Description were to be edited to change the ProfileID substring to "WebCGM,"
it would not be valid WebCGM. The reason is this CGM contains ATA Layer
ESCAPEs, and WebCGM (all Profile Editions) does not allow private ESCAPEs.

Setting the above concerns aside, the image itself is fine. The TCC element
occurs just before the bitonal tile (the wiring diagram graphic), which is
the last graphical primitive element in the metafile. The TCC element sets
the background color of the bitonal tile to transparent, and the foreground
color of the bitonal tile is black. Everything else in the metafile, i.e.
the two color tiles, red text string, and three black rectangular polygons,
should be visible behind the bitonal tile, and that is indeed the case in
the reference PNG image.

Rob
