Subject: RE: OASIS TC presentations at Orlando XML conference

Lauren,

We're just now in the process of forming an ebXML Implementation,
Interoperability and Conformance (IIC) TC under OASIS. This TC will focus on
compliance with the ebXML specifications, through the creation of test cases
and such, but is also intended to do demos of ebXML with participating
companies (providers and/or users) (pretty much along the lines of what the
ebXML Proof-of-Concept working group used to do). Would XML 2001 be a good
forum to show ebXML interoperability among vendors? If so, what track would
you recommend? I'll type up a 500-word abstract, but wanted to get your
views on this first. Thanks much.

-Philippe
(ebXML IIC TC chair)

Subject: Re: OASIS TC presentations at Orlando XML conference

As Karl wrote, the XML 2001 planning committee recognizes how valuable the
work
being done at OASIS is, and I'd like to encourage you all to put in
proposals on
the conference web site (http://www.xmlconference.org). All you need at this
stage
is an abstract of no more than 500 words that can be passed on to the
reviewers;
the full papers won't be required until October 15.

Our idea is to group the presentations by area of interest, so for example,
core
technology work will be presented in the core technology track, no matter
where it
was done. This way attendees at the conference can hear more detail about
what
interests them.

Some of you might not wish to fill an entire 45-minute presentation; in that
case,
please see if you can join forces with another TC doing related work, and
put in a
joint proposal.

Product demo proposals aren't due until October 1; other proposals are due
on
Saturday June 30th. If you really can't make it by then (I know, it's only
two
days away), but want to put in a proposal, please send me email.

regards,

Lauren
