Subject: Re: OASIS TC presentations at Orlando XML conference

Lauren

The OASIS Interoperability and Conformance Committee will be sending an abstract later today.  Our topic will be focused on conformance with particular discussions related to ebXML conformance.  Our committee is continuing the work we started with the ebXML Requirements and Technical Architecture committees in developing conformance guidelines and plans for ebXML as a whole.  Our presentation would fit nicely before the ebXML Implementation, Interoperability and Conformance (IIC), since they are focused on the ebXML TRP.  I also expect that the ebXML Registry TC, which is building Conformance tests for ebXML Registries will submit an abstract.  Again, our Interoperabilty and Conformance Committee would make a nice introduction to that.

As Karl wrote, the XML 2001 planning committee recognizes how valuable the work being done at OASIS is, and I'd like to encourage you all to put in proposals on the conference web site (http://www.xmlconference.org). All you need at this stage is an abstract of no more than 500 words that can be passed on to the reviewers; the full papers won't be required until October 15.

Our idea is to group the presentations by area of interest, so for example, core technology work will be presented in the core technology track, no matter where it was done. This way attendees at the conference can hear more detail about what interests them.

Some of you might not wish to fill an entire 45-minute presentation; in that case, please see if you can join forces with another TC doing related work, and put in a joint proposal.

Product demo proposals aren't due until October 1; other proposals are due on Saturday June 30th. If you really can't make it by then (I know, it's only two days away), but want to put in a proposal, please send me email.

regards,

Lauren
