Subject: RE: [chairs] Symposium meeting facility needs - was: RE: [chairs] Symposium TC meetings
Scott, the XDI TC has a need for (in order of priority): a conference phone for inbound conference call, an internet connection, and a screen (we have a TC member volunteering to bring a projector.) Thanks, =Drummond -----Original Message----- From: Scott McGrath [mailto:scott.mcgrath@oasis-open.org] Sent: Monday, April 19, 2004 9:09 AM To: 'Martin Chapman'; karl.best@oasis-open.org; chairs@lists.oasis-open.org Subject: [chairs] Symposium meeting facility needs - was: RE: [chairs] Symposium TC meetings Martin, You raise some very valid considerations. When planning the Symposium, using available feedback from the TAB and TC Chairs, it was determined that having no meeting fee for the TC Meetings would lower the barrier to participation f2f. Therefore, we expended the budget on providing for f2f meetings--rooms, coffee breaks etc. That said, next year, the budget may be structured differently. This year--we have *some* limited capacity to support extra meeting services because of the generous support of the Symposium sponsors - Adobe, Booz Allen Hamilton, IBM, SAP and Sun Microsystems. Therefore I am asking each TC Chair who will be meeting in New Orleans to provide a prioritized list of extra services requested. This is not an assurance of their availability, as that is based on budget and availability at the hotel. PLEASE, only consider those services needed, as Martin has. To include things that would be "nice to have" will reduce focus on things that are necessary. Possible extra services, please indicate those that are needed and rank-order the needs: Conference phone (for inbound calls only): Internet connection: Screen for projector: Projector (This is a real long shot. We hope every TC has a member who has access to borrow the office projector) Of course, we will be promoting the Sponsors support in the TC meeting rooms. If anyone has interest in ensuring we have the budget to provide meeting amenities and benefiting from the sponsor promotion, do let us know.
