Subject: Re: [chairs] Voting 2/3

If I read your suggestion correctly, the solution really is to make sure you don't hold REAL meetings during the summer - using the 'non-meetings' instead. Therefore, no one misses a 'real' meeting and the 2/3 rule does not kick any voters off the list. Sigh, I guess this works but I would much prefer using the tools that OASIS supports...

The reality is that nothing is going to be done about this.
The only solution is to have non-meetings thru the summer,
till September - where the meetings that do occur are
informal conference calls - not official calls.
This has the side benefits of no minutes needed, and
no roll-call.
It has the negative impact that items discussed are
non-things and so probably best not to discuss
anything being included in spec's - just busy work
around promoting the work of the TC and such.
Of course if you need to do real spec' work - just make
sure your editors and others are not planning any
vacations... or use Kavi voting for everything (make
sure the TC has approved that as well of course).

Couldn't agree more.
I made my opinion known a couple of weeks ago and asked Jamie for an
update. I got no response:

> rule is going to get changed and when that might happen?
This is creating lots of extra work for chairs/secretaries of the TC's
and needs to get changes ASAP, IMO.
Jamie - please respond.
