Subject: DocBook Specification environment
Ken Holman has just completed a set of revisions to the DocBook OASIS specification template environment. On behalf of OASIS, I would like to express our gratitude to Ken and to the several spec editors who worked with Ken throughout the process. Not only do we have a complete set of stylesheets for both online and PDF creation, we also have accompanying documentation detailing the process from authoring through production. You can view that documentation here: http://docs.oasis-open.org/templates/DocBook/spec-0.5/oasis-specification-0.5-wd03.html and of course the specific stylesheets and documentation in html, xml and pdf are linked from the main OASIS templates page at http://docs.oasis-open.org/templates/ If you are on a TC that is using DocBook to create and maintain your spec, be sure to grab the new package. For those of you that might be considering using structured markup, please check out the documentation. There are several very experienced users who I'm sure will be happy to lend a hand to help you get started. Thanks again to Ken Holman, Jon Bosak, Scott Hudson and Will Norris (and my apologies if I've inadvertently left anyone out!). NOTE: I've been trying to send this message to tcmembers but the email moderation hasn't yet arrived and is unclear if it will. In the interim, I'm alerting TC Chairs. |
