Subject: FYI: Naming Directives v1.3 published

Chairs/Editors,

FYI, Revision 1.3 of the Naming Directives policy has been
published [1], providing new guidance for naming of Multi-Part
works. The revision incorporates no material changes other
than added rules for constructing identifiers needed to name
separately-titled prose "Parts" in a Multi-Part Work Product:
filenames, paths/URIs, and titles.

The new rules for Multi-Part were formulated initially in
joint Staff-TAB meetings (Burlington, MA, 2012-07) and
subsequently refined, reviewed, and approved for use. In
typical cases, TC Administration with coordinate with TCs
in the design of Multi-Part works to ensure that naming
proposals support our institutional goals for usability.

As an outcome of the same meetings, we will also soon
implement the production of a Staff-generated administrative
document called a "manifest file" to accompany each release
of an approved Work Product published in the OASIS Library.
This manifest file will be published simply FYI to users,
providing: (a) detailed information about the artifacts
which constitute the Work Product in any published release,
and (b) hash/digest values for the individual files.

Please send any questions/comments on the Naming Directives
v1.3 to the editor and/or to the TC Administration alias.
