Hi Simon,
Valid point. The only option is to use the ##other declaration as it allows you to add a new attribute as an extension. Hi Ram,
I have a question regarding the PostCode
in the xAL. There is no "type" or something similar associated
with the PostCode object. However, I have a case where this would be necessary.
One example is Ireland, where an address can have several PostCodes e.g.
Loc8 code or OpenPostcode or the new and upcoming EIRCODE. Here it would
be important to know the type of the PostCode, e.g. to perform a validation.
Probably this has already been considered
in the standard, but I did not find another object which I could use here
(except the FreeTextAddress).
Would you have any recommendation? Thank
you very much!
Best regards,
Simon

Re: OASIS CIQ
TC
Hi Simon,
Thanks for your note. The specs has been stable without
need for any update. Therefore, we do not want to confuse industry with
releases. We have not come across any case where CIQ cannot handle a requirement.
The committee is still active except thar we are not working
on any new spec as there is no need for one. I will be happy to have u
as a member of the committee.

Dear Ram
I am a research assistant and phd student at University St. Gallen. There,
I am involved in the competence center Corporate Data Quality where we
are closely collaborating with more than 16 international partner companies
(e.g. Nestle, Bosch, Bayer, Novartis).
In this context I am very interested in the CIQ specifications. I already
presented the specifications, especially the xAL, to our partner companies
in one of the five Corporate Data Quality Workshops per year. So, I am
having a good general understanding of the excellent specification. As
a response to my presentation many companies are very interested in incorporating
the specifications into their data models. Thus, I am interested if there
is still any activity on these specifications as the last update on the
OASIS website of the CIQ TC was in 2010. Is there anything planned to update
or further extend the specifications or are they maybe comprised by some
new standardization initiative? However, I would also be interested in
participating in the committee if there is any activiti.
It would be very nice if you could shed light on the status of the CIQ
TC! Thank you very much!
