Subject: RE: conf call and e-mail
Hello Ram, all, still having to look at the NAML-GlobalAddress comparison table in detail, I would like to repeat my observations and views following my brief scan of the information: - I do not see any major differences (which is in line with our earlier ad-hoc comparison during XML2000) - One difference is the higher level of detail in NAML; the AND GLobalAddress used to have that also, and I will add it again to the definition. Our goal here is to allow for optional levels of detail used according to the needs of the trading partners. - My suggestion for the other issue, name vs. address, is to make a distinction between organization name (which is sometimes needed to make an a address complete) and a personal name (which is not, as far as the postal authorities are concerned - perhaps with the one example of 'poste restante'?). This would imo lead to the following action plan: we use the personal name part of NAML as-is, including all the 'persons representing other persons' modeling, and the GlobalAddress as the two core components for xNAL. I will extend GlobalAddress with the increased (prefix, suffix) levels of detail, and we both have to think about the role of the organization in the address and discuss this in a weeks time or so.
