Subject: Re: [cmis-comment] Question on CMIS AtomPub Namespace Prefixes

Dennis,

>Must an implementation of CMIS use the exact prefixes as specified for the Restful AtomPub Binding in section “3.1.1 Namespaces”?

>When developing in .NET, e.g. the prefix for namespace http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom will be “a10” instead of the specified “atom”. The “cmisra” and “cmis” prefixes will also have other names than specified. Is this acceptable?

 >I have validated the feeds in http://feedvalidator.org/, which accepts the feeds as being valid, with a recommendation of avoiding prefix “a10”.

We used the prefixes cmis and cmisra for readability. In jaxb, the namespaces typically are ns1, ns2, ns3, .... In other tools they may be a10. As long as the follow xml with an appropriate xmlns: attribute, the namespaces are valid.
