Subject: Apache Chemistry: CMIS 1.1 Statement of Use

Apache Chemistry is an open source project that provides CMIS client libraries, a CMIS server framework and CMIS development tools. Client implementations are available for Java, .Net, Python, PHP, JavaScript, and soon Objective-C. The server framework is written in Java.

The Apache Chemistry subproject OpenCMIS has successfully implemented the Content Management Interoperability Services (CMIS) v1.1 Committee Specification 01 [1] in accordance with the conformance clauses specified therein and OASIS policy. The implementation has successfully been used in interoperation with other independent implementations.

OpenCMIS provides a server framework and a client library, as well as development tools and a Test Compatibility Kit (TCK). The implementation of the CMIS 1.1 Browser Binding has already been released as part of the OpenCMIS 0.8.0 release [2]. CMIS servers and clients that are using OpenCMIS can get Browser Binding support even for CMIS 1.0 repositories by upgrading to this release. Other new CMIS 1.1 features have not been released yet, but the source code is publicly available [3]. The next release of OpenCMIS will cover the complete CMIS 1.1 feature set. The OpenCMIS TCK has been adapted to check some of the new CMIS 1.1 features. The test coverage is supposed to improve over the next few weeks.

Best regards,

Florian
