Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (CMIS-129) need to specify payloadformat for PATCH (when doing partial updates)

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/CMIS-129?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=10235#action_10235 ]

Julian Reschke commented on CMIS-129:

Not sure what the question is...

PATCH essentially says that the mime type + payload specify a patch request. So if we introduce a mime type for use in PATCH, we need to define the semantics. And yes, that definition could be very brief (lile "replace all specified properties, leave the other unchanged"), but it needs to be specified.

> CMIS-28 suggests that we'll be using PATCH instead of PUT for partial updates (good).
> If we do so, we'll need to define syntax and semantics of the payload format, and potentially register an associated media type.
