Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (CMIS-280) Content stream mediatype: is it xml or mime type of document?

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/CMIS-280?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=11764#action_11764 ]

Florent Guillaume commented on CMIS-280:
----------------------------------------

8.7 also says: This is exposed via 'stream' and edit-media on the entry.
So it's quite clear to me that the content type exposed is that of the document itself, and not text/xml (there is no XML wrapping, it's a remote resource). This follows AtomPub practices.

cmisContentStreamType is only used for SOAP bindings, it's not relevant to AtomPub.

> The ReSTful AtomPub Binding 62a.doc section 8.7 reads,
> Media Type: Mime/Type of resource (mime type of content stream on document)
> This leads me to believe the stream returns the document itself without any Atom or XML wrapping.
> However, the CMIS-Core.xsd defines cmisContentStreamType (though without an element name), which is XML that wraps the document, which is encoded as base64Binary.
