Subject: Re: [cmis] Groups - OASIS Standards Approval Process (unofficial).doc uploaded
Hi all, Nice job, David! Just a couple of notes. There are two separate ballots - one is to approve the spec as a Committee Specification (which you identify); the second is to submit your spec to the OASIS membership for OS ballot - you need to first have 3 statements of use (as defined in the TC Process Policy) before you can conduct the latter, although oftentimes the two ballots are conducted simultaneously with the latter dependent on a successful outcome of the former. Other resources you may find helpful: http://docs.oasis-open.org/templates/MindMaps/SpecificationLifeCycle/index.html Spreadsheet that will calculate the timelines for you (the last link is a video tutorial): http://docs.oasis-open.org/templates/TCHandbook/TCScheduler.xls http://docs.oasis-open.org/templates/TCHandbook/TCScheduler.ods http://docs.oasis-open.org/templates/TCHandbook/TCScheduler/TCScheduler.htm And from the TC Handbook: http://docs.oasis-open.org/templates/TCHandbook/content/tcprocess/standardsapprovalprocess/specificationlifecycle.htm Regards, Mary Mary P McRae Director, Standards Development Technical Committee Administrator OASIS: Advancing open standards for the information society email: mary.mcrae@oasis-open.org web: www.oasis-open.org twitter: fiberartisan #oasisopen phone: 1.603.232.9090 Standards are like parachutes: they work best when they're open.
