An updated version of the proposal is now at https://www.oasis-open.org/committees/document.php?document_id=56806&wg_abbrev=cmis
It adds the fact that such a query could result in heterogeneous collections.  It also makes the suggestion that secondary types could be implemented using the SQL view notion.
