Description
This proposal extends CMIS to provide support for extracting data from a
property value using an XPath or XQuery query. This allows a client to
extract a specific part of a property value that is an XML document.
Because XML documents can be relatively large, the only alternative to this
proposal is to download the entire XML document to the client which can
then apply an XPath or XQuery query to extract data from the XML document.
This proposal therefore reduces the bandwidth requirements for extracting
data from hierarchically structured property values.
