Subject: Minutes of Meeting on 20 October 2015
Minutes for the CMIS4DAM TC Meeting on 20 October 2015 Attendees: Ken Baclawski, Northeastern University Ray Gauss II, Alfresco Software Carsten Hoffmann, Canto, Inc. 1. Report on Joint Meeting with CMIS TC Ken summarized the joint meeting with the CMIS TC.Asynchronous requests would be a new feature that CMIS does not currently provide.
CMIS does not support hierarchical property values. The are open to adding and XML data type to facilitate such values.
CMIS does not support dyanamic (ad hoc) generation of renditions. 2. Discussion of aynchronous requests. It was proposed that we specify a subtype of cmis:Item that represents a pending operation. Such a type could be used to allow any request to be performed asynchronously. The main difficulty is that the client must be able to specify whether a request could be performed asynchronously.
It was also suggested that the browser binding could be extended to allow for asynchronous processing.
3. Hierarchical metadata Hierarchical metadata requires these three capabilities: a. Search b. Retrieval c. Updating valuesAfter some discussion, it was decided that SQL/XML should be considered as the mechanism for supporting hierarchical query capabilities.
4. Lack of participationThe last few meetings have shown a lack of participation by the TC members. It was felt that we need to attract more interest if the TC is to be successful.
It was suggested that the problem is that the TC does not have any concrete proposals to discuss. Until we have draft work products, the discussions are too vague to attract continuing interest. Once some drafts have been contributed, we should revisit the issue of lack of participation.
Respectfully submitted, Ken Baclawski Chair, CMIS4DAM TC
