Sorry to miss the meeting today.

 

There have been some interesting conversations in the IOT world this week on monitoring of homes for abusive behavior and the like. Not sure where that fits into the world of COEL that we have described already.

 

An interesting side thread was people using the IOT to harass their spouse: changing lights, resetting thermostats, etc.

 

Its clear that the messaging to this crowd is wrong. It was suggested that COEL was an implementation OF privacy by design, rather than an implementation BASED on privacy by design. By that I mean, this crowd that COEL was of no interest to people building IOT apps because it was not even in the same domain as far as they could tell.

1. Small changes to specification    e.g. errors, typos etc.
2. Extensions to specification           e.g. open mHealth (http://www.openmhealth.org/), Bluetooth atom transfer, COEL model v2
3. New features                                    e.g. A decentralised identity system in COEL space
4. Adoption & marketing                   e.g. academic application paper
5. Change to specification needed to support adoption in specific applications
