Subject: Re: [csaf] Inviting nominations for Chair of OASIS Common Security Advisory Framework (CSAF) TC

Even though it is not needed, I would like to second the nomination of Omar Santos as chair of Chair of the OASIS Common Security Advisory Framework (CSAF) TC. For those of you that do not know Omar, I would like to add a bit to his qualifications and why I feel he is the ideal choice to lead the TC.

Omar is a principle engineer at Cisco and has been working in the security field for over 17 years. During that time, Omar has repeatedly demonstrated his commitment to the security industry in various activities such as serving as working chairs in ISACI, authoring several security related books, actively publishing security related blog posts (such as the impact of adopting CVSSv3), and perhaps most importantly to this position, serving as the primary author of the TC’s charter. I would like to conclude by mentioning Omar has been key to the adoption of the OpenVuln API at Cisco which is based on CVRF. His involvement in this project has given him an in-depth understanding of the benefits and limitations of practically implementing CVRF which will be critical in the successful development of CSAF.

Again, without any reservations, I whole-heartedly second the nomination of Omar Santos as Chair of the OASIS CSAF TC.

I would like to nominate Omar Santos as the chair of the CSAG TC. Omar is a detail oriented individual and has worked to inside of Cisco to adopt the other OASIS standards and the CSAF precursor CVRF. He would make a excellent TC chair, thanks for your consideration.

To all prospective members of the CSAF:

The first order of business at the inaugural TC meeting is to elect a chair (or two co-chairs). If you are interested in serving as a Chair or in nominating another individual for the position of Chair, you are welcome to make that candidacy known prior to the first meeting by posting a note to the TC's e-mail list expressing your interest and/or intent along with a brief statement of your or their qualifications. The meeting will also accept nominations from any qualified persons before beginning the vote.

Please be aware that prospective members must join the TC no less than 7 days prior to the first meeting in order to participate in the meeting and vote for TC Chair(s). To join the TC, go to the TC's web page at https://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/csaf/ and click the 'join group' link under Roster.
