Stephen, I'll be working with Bret and other TC members on the technical details for the anticipated IANA (ICANN/ IETF / IESG) registration processes.

OASIS Staff is required to make the registration applications for IANA registrations, but I'll coordinate with CTI TC members per SOP for tech features.

I just completed a registration for the XLIFF TC (reminder: it san take a while, depending upon lots of factors...)

Does the group have any plans to register a media type for STIX 2.x at the official IANA media type registry (https://www.iana.org/assignments/media-types/media-types.xhtml)? I’m currently authoring an IETF standard in which I’d like to create a requirement around the usage of a certain media type when a STIX document is involved. I’d like that media type to be an official STIX media type. Something like application/stix2+xml maybe?

OASIS has registered media types in the standards tree before (https://www.iana.org/assignments/media-types/application/samlassertion+xml).
