DCML Adoption - Phenomenon or Real Adoption?

Hello OASIS and DCML community,

It would seem that unbeknownst to some of us, DCML and its concepts are taking hold. Here are a few examples of the evidence to these factors:

Tideway Systems, an original member of the DCML org from inception, has used DCML concepts in its Tideway Foundation and CMDB architecture, actively marketed as such within the product.
Scalent, another member of the DCML org at inception, has used DCML concepts in the development of its Virtual Operating Environment and is actively building an orchestration layer for interdependency mapping based on DCML.
IBM’s China Research Lab has approached the DCML org about using the DCML framework as a starting point for the development of the IBM CMDB architecture, likely to be used in future product constructs under the Tivoli badge.

This is outside the natural work that Opsware and EDS are pursuing in the area of product/operational model integration. It would seem that while there was a bit of confusion about the validity of our work, it has not been lost on the industry from a value perspective. This is even more supportive evidence that we must harness this energy to continue to refine and invigorate the DCML efforts in the open community, so as to not homogenize its effectiveness…
