Subject: PARTICIPATE IN THE DCML Member Section Steering Committee ELECTION PROCESS!
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Dear OASIS Members: This is a very exciting time for the OASIS Data Center Markup Language (DCML) Member Section and we are anxious to enlist new leaders to serve on the DCML Steering Committee with fresh ideas that will lead us to our next phase. Accordingly, nominations for OASIS DCML Member Section Steering Committee members are now open! Nominations will be closed at 5:00 PM Pacific Standard Time on Monday, December 4, 2006. BACKGROUND: The purpose of the OASIS DCML Member Section is to foster support for the development of the Data Center Markup Language, an XML-based specification for representing the contents of data centers and information used in managing those contents. The purpose of the DCML Member Section Steering Committee is to: a. Coordinate the activities of OASIS DCML technical committee(s) that are part of the Member Section; b. Promote the adoption and implementation of specifications developed by DCML TC(s), including directing the creation of implementation guidelines, conformance tests, white papers, etc.; c. Promote DCML technology in general through appropriate marketing efforts. ELIGIBILITY: a. As an OASIS member you may nominate any OASIS member to the DCML Member Section Steering Committee. Steering Committee members must be OASIS members in good standings. NOMINATION PROCESS: Members interested in serving on the Steering Committee and standing for election shall provide notice of intention to run by sending an email to the DCML MS SC mailing list, dcml-ms-sc@lists.oasis-open.org, and include a statement of your intention to run and any other information that will describe your interest and qualifications by 5:00 PM Pacific Standard Time on Monday, December 4, 2006. If an individual is nominated by another member, the nominee shall provide notice of willingness to serve on the Steering Committee by that deadline. Do not assume that the person(s) you want to serve on the Steering Committee will be nominated by others! Those who agree to be nominated will be asked to prepare a brief statement to be published to the Member Section mailing list prior to the election. ELECTION: Following the close of the nomination period, a formal ballot will be established and opened for a period of ONE WEEK, from 5:00 PM Pacific Standard Time on Monday, December 4, 2006 until 5:00 PM Pacific Standard Time on Monday, December 11, 2006. Three to five Steering Committee seats will be filled. Each organizational member of the DCML Member Section will get one vote in this election. Please send your nomination questions to dcml-ms-sc@lists.oasis-open.org as soon as possible! ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: If additional information is desired on the responsibilities of Steering Committee members, background on the DCML Member Section, the current Steering Committee will address those issues by email and can set up a teleconference to address questions and provide more information.
