NOTICE OF ELECTION FOR DCML MEMBER SECTION STEERING COMMITTEE

 

TAKE NOTICE that the OASIS DCML Member Section is officially announcing a nomination and balloting process for the election of five (5) members to serve on the OASIS DCML Member Section Steering Committee.  The term of office will be one (1) year.  Per the DCML Member Section Rules of Procedure, individuals who are counted as members of the DCML Member Section and who are in good standing as of April 11, 2005 are eligible for nomination and election to the DCML Member Section Steering Committee.

 

OASIS DCML MEMBER SECTION STEERING COMMITTEE

The OASIS DCML Member Section Steering Committee is comprised of executive-level officers, experienced in managing organizational growth, strategic planning and dedicated to advancing the Data Center Markup Language. By serving on the DCML Member Section Steering Committee, Committee members exercise a major impact on the strategic and tactical direction of the member section. Elected Committee members serve as individuals, regardless of their affiliation or employment.

Please Note: Participation in the DCML Member Section Steering Committee is a commitment that may take approximately 10-20% of a nominees time. We strongly recommend that any nominee has the support from his or her management to devote approximately 10-20% of his or her time to Steering Committee activities and is able to travel to attend face-to-face meetings approximately quarterly at his or her employer's or own expense.

 

Nomination and Election Procedure. 

PLEASE NOTE THAT VOTING PROCEDURES AND ELECTION WILL BE FACILITATED ELECTRONICALLY AND WILL BE CONCLUDED DURING OR IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE DCML MEMBER SECTION FACE TO FACE MEETING PER THE TERMS DEFINED BELOW.

 

Additional Information related to the election includes:

 

Eligibility for Nomination: Any individual representing a member in good standing of the OASIS DCML Member Section is entitled to nominate one (1) representative to the DCML Steering Committee. Individuals should be nominated for their personal qualifications and commitment, not solely for their company or organizational affiliation.

 

Procedure for Nominations: Nominations should be made by e-mail to Sarah Barbuscia at sbarbuscia@inventures.com no later than 6:00 P.M. Pacific Time on April 22, 2005. Nominations received by that time will appear on the DCML ballot available through the DCML Member section website pages. Only DCML Members will be eligible to vote.

 

Accepting Nominations

Nominees must email formal acceptance to sbarbuscia@inventures.com during the nomination period. Nominations not formally accepted by the nominee by the end of the nomination period will be considered withdrawn.

 

Voting Period: Votes can be placed from April 23, 2005 through 6:00 P.M. Pacific Time on Wednesday, April 30, 2005.

 

Extension of Voting Period: The Chairperson may extend the Voting Period if during the Voting Period less than a quorum of the DCML Members cast votes for the election.  The quorum requirement is 40% of DCML members in good standing.

 

Members Entitled to Vote: Each representative of the DCML Member section in good standing as of April 11, 2005 will be entitled to vote.  Each representative is entitled to only one (1) vote per open position.  Multiple votes may not be cast for a single candidate.
