Hi Folks,
I'm forwarding this note to the DITA TC members in general. I think we should do a presentation on the dita.xml.org site at the next meeting. I also want to do a round of introductions for everyone to get to know everyone else's background.

Kris, Would you be able to do the dita.xml.org review, perhaps with help from Carol and Su-Laine?

Gershon, What do you think? We're moving ahead so quickly that we really haven't had an opportunity to proceed carefully.

Thanks, JoAnn

David,

I agree that the first four questions will be very useful for novice users like me, and they should also be included as the topics to cover in an upcoming webinar as I suggested in our last meeting.

Thanks,

Hi, Carol

Can I be a big nuisance?! ;-)

I think I'm feeling much the same as I did with the Adoption TC a short while ago. Namely that I'm coming to this fairly fresh, whilst other folk are way ahead of me! I just don't feel I've got a proper 'handle' on the site.

dita.xml.org seems to go back a number of years, at least I've certainly seen content from 2006, and I'm sure there's stuff older than that.

Would it be possible to have a fairly brief top-level synopsis about the site?

Which areas can site users access for editing, and which not?

Which areas are relatively static, and which are forever changing?

Which areas of the site address which needs?

How can a site driven by a wide and diverse community be properly administered - correcting obvious mistakes.

I think that would help me, at least. Would others find that useful?

Many thanks,
David
